Quartz seeks a leader for its growing Things team, which is responsible for our most ambitious data-driven and visual journalism, and to imbue the spirit of that work throughout the organization.
The Things editor will coordinate the team’s projects and priorities, help the team grow, and contribute her own reporting, writing, coding, and editing. It is a senior role within the Quartz newsroom that would be perfect for someone with a lot of experience on a news apps or interactive graphics desk.
“Thing” is simply our catchall term for stories that break free of the traditional article format to convey information in ways that work better on the web. Developing those new storytelling methods—and empowering others to use them, as well—is the challenge of this job.
To apply, please submit a letter detailing some of your vision for the team, along with a resume and three links to relevant work.
