Quartz seeks a news writer in New York

Quartz seeks a reporter obsessed with the world of business to cover the biggest breaking stories of the day, while offering context and insight. You’ll need to demonstrate a dexterity in your approach to reporting, be fascinated with how businesses are changing, and show readers the impact of these changes on the global economy and the people within it.

We are looking for an early-career journalist with at least two years’ professional reporting experience, an entrepreneurial approach, data fluency, and the ability to convey curiosity, sophistication, and a clear point of view in their writing. You will relish the challenge of keeping up with fast-breaking developments, making quick judgments about which stories to cover, and meeting deadlines with aplomb.

At Quartz we take a global, interdisciplinary, forward-looking approach to covering the news. Experimenting with new ways to put news and data into context will be a central challenge of the job, and you can count on being tapped to help out the email team on a regular basis.

To apply, please submit a cover letter, resume, and three links to relevant stories you’ve written and reported.
