PYMNTS seeks senior reporter for innovation and fintech

  • Work closely with the Managing Editor and client services team to produce thought-provoking pieces on the payments, retail and commerce industry.
  • Conduct interviews with executives, cover breaking news and develop original content focused on topics and trends relevant to our audience of senior-level executives worldwide.
  • Deliver stories that are not only original, but crisp, compelling and written in the highly conversational PYMNTS style.
  • Manage deliverables to a timely, consistent schedule and at the highest quality.

*PREFERENCE WILL BE GIVEN TO CANDIDATES WITH SIGNIFICANT DIGITAL JOURNALISM EXPERIENCE.*

Are you skilled at writing compelling, fact-based and data driven-stories that are both informative and interesting to read – under daily deadline pressure?  Do you excel at pulling together a variety of credible facts, sources and data to produce original content?  And do you want to do that for the largest B2B news and content platform covering payments, commerce and retail innovation in both the U.S. and worldwide?

We are looking for a talented, multi-faceted team player – an energetic writer who enjoys researching, analyzing information, problem-solving and is skilled at communicating his/her ideas in a clever, interesting and compelling style both in writing and orally. The candidate must be a critical-thinker, creative to the core, and possess strong presentation and time-management skills. The ability to conduct an engaging interview that produces a story with a unique angle and edge is essential.

A bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of journalism experience is required.  Our ideal candidate would also have a background in payments and/or financial technology.

PYMNTS offers a competitive compensation and benefits package that rewards results handsomely. This package includes a competitive base pay and bonus potential, paid health/dental plan, matching 401(k) and a generous vacation package.

PYMNTS is conveniently located in the Financial District of downtown Boston.  This position can be remote if candidates are not in the Greater Boston area.
