Puget Sound Biz Journal seeks Boeing/aerospace reporter

The Puget Sound Business Journal is seeking a skilled reporter to cover Boeing and the aerospace industry in the Seattle area, including the growing outer space industry.

We are looking for someone who is able to marry strong traditional journalism skills – source building, sharp interviewing techniques, strong analytical and investigative reporting skills, clear writing, document use – with online and social media know-how.

We are a business publication, but our focus is on the people who run those businesses. We expect reporters to source and blog all day, to know the major players on their beat and get the inside scoop on deals before they’re announced. The PSBJ is an enterprise publication and we are the go-to place for Seattle-area business leaders to find out what’s going on.

The Boeing and aerospace beat is one of the highest-profile beats in American City Business Journals. Coverage is frequently reprinted by other ACBJ publications and gets national recognition. It is an incredible opportunity to cover one of the country’s biggest and most high-profile companies in “Jet City.”

The beat also includes Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos’ space company, Blue Origin, which is racing Elon Musk to commercial space travel. Musk’s SpaceX has a large satellite office near Seattle as well, as does Microsoft billionaire Paul Allen, who shares Bezos’ and Musk’s space ambitions.

To apply, send resume, clips and a cover letter to managing editor Emily Parkhurst at eparkhurst@bizjournals.com.
