Providence Business News seeks a reporter

Providence Business News, southern New England’s leading business publication, is looking for an enterprising, energetic reporter to help cover one of the nation’s most diverse business communities.

From finance to manufacturing and health care, and government to tourism and technology, Providence and the surrounding region provide an endless variety of stories.

PBN breaks news, but we also give the business community a smart take on what is happening. We’re looking for a talented journalist and self-starter, who is familiar with AP style and has a willingness to learn and be part of a team.

Strong writing skills and a desire to tell stories are also pluses.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
