Posted by Chris Roush

Protocol is hiring a reporter to cover the world of health and medical technology — everything from telemedicine and health apps to data management, genomics, AI in health care, and personal health devices like fitness trackers. We’re looking for someone who will understand how governments regulate health and medical devices and data, and who will also be knowledgeable about how big tech companies and emerging startups are hoping to disrupt the health care industry.

Our ideal candidates have a knack for finding out what’s happening in the world of health technology and explaining what it means and why it matters to a savvy audience; are capable of producing scoops, daily news and enterprise stories; and have a solid understanding of health technology and are well-sourced in that world.

Our primary offices are in San Francisco, New York and Washington, D.C., but we welcome applications from candidates living in other locations as well.

Our Culture:

We are driven by our values. We are relentless contributors, disruptors, collaborators and talent cultivators. Our culture is defined by positivity, optimism, diverse thought and background, grit, total integrity, and a prioritization on innovation and urgency.

We value each team member. We offer a competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package, including health and wellness benefits, retirement plans, as well as work-life balance flexibility and opportunities for career development.
