Private Funds Management seeks editor in chief

B2B financial publisher PEI Media is seeking an ambitious editor to lead Private Funds Management (pfm), a print and digital news service that caters to professionals overseeing the financial, operational and legal management functions within private equity / alternative investment firms.

From firm management issues, to valuation, accounting, tax, terms & conditions, compliance, regulation, risk and legal affairs, pfm provides news and analysis on all the complex issues private investment firms and funds must successfully navigate. pfm is about more than providing content: it’s about delivering insight that makes a difference and helps shape best practice in one of today’s most dynamic segments of finance.

REQUIREMENTS

The ideal candidate will be an analytical news junkie at heart, with a passion for exploring complex legal, financial and regulatory issues, crafting compelling news and feature articles and developing a network of sources. They should also be a skilled editor, able to deftly improve others’ copy in a deadline-driven environment, ensuring the team’s output is in line with the title’s mission as well as the company’s standards for accuracy and relevancy.

Applicants should have a BA/BS degree or higher and at least four years’ related journalism experience, preferably covering legal or regulatory issues, financial news and/or institutional investment.

The successful applicant will be highly organized with the proven ability to develop and ‘own’ a complex beat, including breaking news, delivering in-depth analysis and cultivating high-level sources. Applicants must be comfortable working across print, digital and social formats; familiarity with multimedia reporting a plus.
