Prairie Mountain Media is looking for an experienced journalist to serve as police, courts and breaking news reporter for the web and print editions of the Boulder Daily Camera and its sister newspapers. Responsibilities include covering criminal cases from arrest through resolution and breaking news across Boulder County, Colorado, as well as identifying trends in public safety, criminal justice and related topics.
The ideal applicant has three to five years of experience covering breaking news and court proceedings. The applicant should be able to write quickly and accurately under breaking news situations and deadlines. The ability to monitor and communicate breaking news through use of social media and build sources within law enforcement and social justice communities are also key.
