Posted by Chris Roush

Power Intelligence is seeking a reporter to cover project finance in the power, utility and clean energy space. The senior reporter will be responsible for cultivating a deeply sourced beat to break news about key players in North America.

S/he will be reporting two stories a day for publication online, including a high-quality news or trend story to run on the front page of the weekly print issue.

The reporter will cover a dynamic power and midstream energy market that consists of a variety of entities, including corporates, commercial and investment banks, as well as privately held companies, and funds. Topics will range from solar and wind to liquefied natural gas and conventionally fired power plants.

The reporter will be following the project finance and capital markets as well as policy that shapes the sector. The reporter will be expected not just to report the news, but to also dig deeper into what is driving the industry and what is likely to be driving it in the future.

The position requires strong source-development skills and the ability to provide consistent breaking news, as well as enterprise stories relevant to our readers. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong willingness to work the phones and go on regular face-to-face meetings to develop strong relationships.

A track record of clean, thoughtful copy is requisite. Social and digital media training is encouraged.

Please send cover letter, resume and up to five clips to Holly Fletcher, managing editor, at hfletcher@iinews.com. No phone calls.
