POLITICO seeks financial services reporter

POLITICO is seeking an experienced financial services reporter.

Description

POLITICO’s mission from the very beginning was to win the audience. We dedicate ourselves to providing accurate, non-partisan, impactful information to the right people at the right time so that they can act with confidence and speed. We experiment to avoid being disrupted and we have fun disrupting others. And we are not afraid to risk failure if it means being the best at what we do.

POLITICO is seeking a tenacious reporter to join our Financial Services Team covering the agencies that regulate the world’s largest capital markets, including the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. The reporter must be able to write breaking news and high-impact enterprise stories that track key regulations and their effect on companies and markets, as well as the internal dynamics of the agencies. The job requires the ability to translate complex regulations for an audience of both knowledgeable professionals and general interest readers. Candidates must be eager to collaborate with other team members and jump in when necessary to help on other beats.

What You’ll Need:

Familiarity with capital markets and financial services regulations generally

  • A track record of clean, clear, authoritative writing
  • Ability to break news and work on deadline while also pursuing enterprise stories
  • Collaborative spirit to work as part of a team

We are driven by our values. We are relentless contributors, disruptors, collaborators, and talent cultivators. Our culture is defined by grit, total integrity, and a prioritization on innovation.

We value our people. We offer a competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits package, including health and wellness benefits, commuter benefits, retirement plans, as well as work-life balance flexibility and opportunities for career development.

Let’s keep in touch. Follow us on FacebookInstagram and Twitter at @politicocareers and #meetPOLITICO for a deep dive into what makes us POLITICOs and our adventures. We’d love to hear from you!
