Politico seeks energy reporter

Politico is looking to expand its energy coverage and is seeking an aggressive reporter to cover the politics of oil, gas, fracking and energy infrastructure for subscribers and a broader audience.

We are seeking versatile candidates with a proven ability to develop sources in Congress, the executive branch and private industry who can write quick, breaking news items and develop more deeply reported articles.

The ideal candidate possesses experience covering the intersection of politics and policy and a track record of uncovering how government decisions get made and tracking major federal programs.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
