Politico seeks energy and environment reporter

Politico is seeking an enterprising reporter to cover the intersection of the politics and policy of energy, and the environment and transportation in New Jersey. This reporter will be part of the New York/New Jersey team covering energy and environmental regulation, utilities, renewables and pipelines.

DUTIES:

• Break news on energy and environment, climate and transit and transportation stories
• Write high-impact enterprise stories for an informed an influential audience
• Co-write a high-profile daily newsletter and contribute to other team newsletters
• Write for subscribers and politico.com
• Work in a fast-paced environment
• Produce a steady flow of well-written stories
• Participate in and potentially host events on various platforms for audiences including subscribers

REQUIREMENTS:

• A strong work ethic and the ability to juggle competing demands
• A track record of scoops large and small
• Clean, clear and authoritative writing
• Care with details and accuracy
• Familiarity with the key issues and players in New Jersey on the beat
• An entrepreneurial attitude and a desire to innovate
