September 2, 2021

Posted by Chris Roush

Politico is seeking an enterprising reporter to cover the politics and policy of transportation and infrastructure, from planes to trains to driverless cars and more.

You’ll join a cohesive team covering every realm of transportation, including impacts to commerce, safety and climate. You’ll serve as the lead author of our popular daily newsletter, Morning Transportation, chronicling this high-profile space for transportation enthusiasts and serving as a key face of our coverage. You’ll also deliver breaking news and high-impact enterprise across all Politico platforms.

The ideal candidate will be curious and ambitious, someone who can write quickly and analytically with a concise, smart and engaging style for a sophisticated audience. A passion for politics and a drive to scoop the competition at every turn is essential, as is the ability to work collaboratively within a small team.

What you’ll need:

  • Experience delivering scoops and high-impact enterprise on a major beat
  • Demonstrated ability to write clearly and accurately on tight deadlines, synthesizing and explaining complicated information
  • A track record of navigating a demanding, fast-paced reporting job
  • Experience covering transportation policy issues, Congress or regulatory agencies is a plus.
