Politico seeks a tech reporter

Politico Pro is looking for a smart, aggressive reporter to cover technology policy and politics, with a special focus on federal and state investigations of the tech industry and the lobbying and influence operations of companies like Facebook, Amazon and Google.

The ideal candidate possesses tech policy expertise, a passion for politics, a thirst for breaking scoops and strong writing skills. Experience covering the Justice Department, the Federal Trade Commission or Capitol Hill is a plus. This reporter will write daily and breaking news stories as well as agenda-setting conceptual articles.

What you’ll need:

  • An excellent grasp of technology policy and politics at the professional level
  • Established ability to write clearly and accurately on deadline
  • Proven ability to break news and handle a demanding, fast-moving reporting job

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
