Politico is looking for a creative, entrepreneurial editor to lead a dynamic team of journalists who cover one of the hottest stories in the world — the political and policy collisions between government and the tech industry as Silicon Valley upends the norms of society, business and democracy.
In collaboration with our bureaus and partners across North America, Europe and Asia, you will assign and edit breaking news, plan in-depth projects, and relentlessly innovate to ensure that Politico has the best coverage anywhere on the intersection of technology and politics.
This will include offering our readers, including our premium subscriber audience, unmatched insights into the thinking and actions of policymakers and regulators as well as the tech industry’s boardrooms and offices. You also believe that the best journalists not only report the news but hold those in power accountable for their actions.
We expect this to be one of the most important editing jobs in the Politico newsroom, with a proven leader who can help us innovate our coverage and find new ways to expand our subscription product to reach influential readers in Washington and other industry power centers as well as keep us as the publication of record on the intersection of tech and politics. We’re looking for someone with not only storytelling and editing experience but also the organizational skills to keep projects on track while coaching reporters to distill complex subjects.
