Pittsburgh Business Times seeks a digital producer

Pittsburgh Business Times is looking for a Digital Producer to own, run and build the online, social, and mobile presence of one of the strongest business news organizations in the country.

Duties

The Digital Producer is responsible for the day-to-day management of all online content, and development and execution of the online content strategy across all platforms and products. The primary goal of the Digital Producer is to craft timely and compelling digital products that drive loyal engagement, grow audience and extend the Business Times brand.

Skills

– Solid news judgment – Strong leadership skills and a team approach – Deep familiarity with SEO and site/traffic/engagement metrics – A keen interest in what’s new and what’s next – An ability to balance high standards for content quality with ambitious traffic and engagement objectives.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
