Peninsula Pulse seeks a senior reporter/editor

The Peninsula Pulse, Door County’s largest-circulation newspaper, is growing. We’re investing in our newsroom. We’re looking for an enterprising, energetic and creative reporter who’s ready to take their career to the next level.

We are an independently owned newspaper with an office on the shore of Lake Michigan. In addition to our weekly newspaper, we have a filmworks division, podcast and magazine. We work on a peninsula among communities that are thriving with business and industry, and alive with arts, theaters, breweries, wineries, music, diverse restaurants and year-round, outdoor recreation.

You are passionate about local news and excited about delivering it through multiple platforms and various delivery methods (print, digital, audio, video, social media). You have experience in interviewing, research, local government, AP style and grammar.

You also have:

  • A passion for storytelling and writing
  • An ability to juggle short-and long-term deadlines
  • An understanding of journalistic ethics
  • A belief in the value of community news
  • A good attitude, especially when representing the paper within the community
  • Strong communication skills
  • A mindset for collaboration with the editor to create consistent, excellent journalism
  • Good organizational and time-management skills

We’re upholding democracy and having fun while making a difference in one of the most beautiful places in Wisconsin, if not the United States. Come join us.

Send a resumé and three writing samples with a cover letter to jobs@ppulse.com.
