Peake Media seeks an assistant editor

We are looking for a talented and driven Assistant Editor to work alongside our editorial and creative teams in publishing content, creating videos, and managing our brands. This individual should have a degree in journalism, communications, or English from an accredited university or college, be a proven content creator able to work on deadlines, be a team player, and a self-starter. We are seeking a go-getter with drive and passion for what they do.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with editors to write stories and create digital content (including videos) for our print publications, websites and social media.
  • Manage photo shoots for certain projects (no experience required).
  • Help with editing and proofreading magazines.
  • Generate story and topic ideas for articles, videos and social media.
  • This position is very writing focused.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, or English.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of AP Style.
  • Ability to work well under deadlines.
  • Hardworking, self-starter, team player, and positive communicator.
  •  Must be able to have fun and laugh.
  • Interest in health/fitness is a bonus; we are an active team.
  • Experience with SEO strategies and Google GA4 analytics is a bonus.
  • Desired multimedia experience, including creating videos and social media content.
