Pacific Coast Business Times seeks reporter

Pacific Coast Business Times, a weekly business journal covering Ventura, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties in California, has an immediate opening for a smart, aggressive, experienced reporter to cover real estate, banking, law, nonprofits, biotech, health care and the economy.

Applicants should have two or more years of experience covering business for a business publication or general interest newspaper and the ability to quickly turn a breaking news story for online publication and then add context and perspective for print.

Applicants should have experience with publicly traded companies, business issues and finance, be able to understand public filings and financial statements, and be able to turn them into compelling stories. The ideal candidate also has experience with online publishing, social media and photography and some video skills. A car is mandatory given the large area we cover.

We offer competitive pay and benefits. To apply, email a cover letter, resume and your three best clips to Managing Editor Glenn Rabinowitz at grabinowitz@pacbiztimes.com.
