Posted by Chris Roush

Pacific Business News is seeking a dynamic beat reporter who loves to break news, can build and own a beat and write meaningful enterprise stories.

This reporter will be covering tourism and restaurants, and also health care, for PBN’s business-to-business audience. Our reporters break news daily, writing for our online audience and two daily emails, and deeper, analytical stories for our weekly print edition.

Duties

Break news every day.

Cover tourism & restaurant as primary beats.

Write regular features and compelling cover stories for weekly print edition.

Tourism is the largest industry in Hawaii and has a broad effect on nearly every aspect of the state’s economy.

Hawaii also has a vibrant restaurant industry that often works hand-in-hand with the tourism industry.

The health care beat, while secondary, is important to the Islands, especially with the launch of the state’s first medical marijuana dispensaries coming up.

PBN reporters provide hands-on support of our social media campaigns and participate in all PBN events.

To apply, send clips, a resume and a cover letter to managing editor Janis Magin at jmagin@bizjournals.com or 808-955-8041
