Omaha daily seeks money editor

The Omaha World-Herald in Nebraska is seeking a Money editor.

The money editor is in charge of all money section news coverage in the metro area and in the Midlands.

ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:

Reports directly to the managing editor.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Daily spot news from the immediate area and across the state of Nebraska and southwest Iowa.
  2. Comprehensive continuing coverage of business news – local, regional, national and international.
  3. Daily and Sunday news features.
  4. Spot enterprise stories.
  5. Logs, lists and records information.
  6. Planning for days ahead.
  7. Annual job previews/reviews.
  8. Staff development and training.

SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

– BA in journalism or equivalent degree.

– Experienced reporter.

– Experienced editor.

– Ability to communicate effectively with staff members to provide training and developmental guidance.
