You’ll be building and leading a team that reimagines the Observer’s business coverage, with a goal of exploring, explaining and exposing the technology, decisions and people that are shaping our economy and our future.
This is a senior editing role reporting to the EIC, perfect for someone with a broad set of interests and sharp instincts.
What you’ll be doing:
Working with the EIC to set strategy for business, science and tech coverage.
Hiring reporters to execute on that strategy.
Working with the visuals and product teams to conceive of and build ambitious data projects.
Ensuring we produce trustworthy, deeply reported original journalism.
Creating compelling multi-platform storytelling that drives conversation and impact.
What we’re looking for:
Enthusiasm for reimagining our brand and building something new.
Experience with accountability journalism as well as a track record for producing compelling explanatory work.
Excellent editing and analytical skills, with experience working on cross-functional teams.
