The New York Times is looking for an experienced, dynamic and creative correspondent based in Texas to bring this complex state to life through visual and investigative pieces, as well as breaking news and live journalism.
The Times has a large, devout and growing Texas readership and the company is seeking someone steeped in the state’s biggest issues.
This journalistic leader should have a proven track record breaking exclusive stories, writing with a distinctive voice and thinking creatively about storytelling forms. You must be a team player eager to travel widely through Texas and the country, and to create and manage a stringer network. Knowledge of Spanish is preferred.
Please include with your application a brief memo on how you would take Times journalism in Texas to the next level and where in the state you would place the bureau.
