NY Times seeks a media reporter

The New York Times is seeking a reporter to cover digital and print media.

This is a breaking news, storytelling and enterprise beat that will require deep sourcing and an understanding of the intersection of media, politics and technology. The right person for this position will be comfortable covering big corporations, start-ups and individual creators of all kinds of content.

In addition to covering media as a business, they will also capture how societal and generational change is affecting digital, legacy and social media. Five years of experience is required.

The position is based in New York and represented by the Newspaper Guild of NY.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
