NY Post seeks business reporter

The New York Post is America’s oldest continuously published newspaper – and one of its most provocative, impactful and beloved news brands.  We break big stories and set the news agenda. Currently, we are looking for an experienced and creative general assignment business reporter.

Candidate should have a strong understanding of not only hard news, but entertainment and celebrity culture. In addition, you must have strong investigative skills as well as strong New York or national sources.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3-5 years of newsroom experience at a metropolitan news organization. • Excellent writing and reporting skills. • The ability to effectively pitch creative enterprising stories. • The ability to thrive in fast-paced deadline driven environment. • The ability to work flexible hours to include weekends.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
