Northern Nevada Business Weekly seeks editor

The Northern Nevada Business Weekly is seeking a business-savvy editor to take the helm of the Reno, Nevada-based newspaper.

With companies such as Tesla and Amazon bringing operations to Reno, business is booming in Northern Nevada. We are looking for an editor that can tell the business world about the “Biggest Little City in the World.”

Applicants should have experience in the business-to-business media environment with a keen understanding of what fellow business leaders want to read. Digital savvy and strong computer skills are a must. Basic comprehension of financial statements, ability to spot economic trends and a stout awareness of what makes good business-to-business news are required traits.

Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
