North Carolina daily seeks business reporter

The StarNews in Wilmington, N.C., is seeking a senior reporter to cover business.

The beat includes local real estate, economic development, employment/jobs, banking and finance. We’re looking for someone who can produce quick-hit dailies while also analyzing data to uncover trend and in-depth stories.

At least five years of news reporting experience, including some business reporting, preferred.

Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
