The North Bay Business Journal, a division of Sonoma Media Investments, is recruiting for a full-time general assignment staff reporter.
We want an aggressive, creative journalist who has strong source development skills as well as a demonstrated ability to cover a broad range of stories, including breaking news, revealing features and complex enterprise stories. Computer-assisted reporting skills and the ability to engage readers across print and digital platforms will elevate you above other applicants.
This position is based in Santa Rosa, located an hour north of San Francisco in the heart of Sonoma County’s Wine Country, where a mix of cultures and issues make it one of California’s most dynamic regions.
Job Requirements:
Develop and write timely stories within deadlines
Cultivate and maintain news sources and monitor developments in the news
Identify photographs and graphics to illustrate stories
Budget stories and maintain calendar of key dates and events in assigned coverage areas
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field
At least one year of experience with newspaper or similar publication
Multimedia skills required
