NJBIZ.cool.coverNJBIZ, New Jersey’s leading business journal, has an opening for a reporter in the Somerset, NJ office.

We cover the breaking business news in the state, everything from economic development to health care, real estate to politics, manufacturing to retail, and all the fun stuff involving bankers, lawyers, accountants and everything else that makes the economy work. Good, solid journalism that has impact and influence.

We cover the one-offs in business: Everything from important workplace issues involving diversity, pay, office atmosphere and work-life balance to the thought-provoking issues such as how much grammar counts in memos and whether you should encourage or discourage your employees from playing Pokemon Go.

This job requires a versatile journalist who relishes plunging into our core topics, learning the basics and turning comprehensive stories driven by tough questions that a niche audience demands.

Other requirements: skepticism; curiosity; a body of published work that shows an ability to engage, explain and enlighten readers; demonstrated ability to break news; experience in highly productive newsrooms.
