“Nightly Business Report” seeks a news associate to help with the creation and coordination of elements for daily business and digital programs.
Must be resourceful and creative in helping to deliver the program’s message, including use of clips, graphics, and props. Find background information on a wide range of business and financial news stories, using a variety of sources such as the Internet, newspapers, and magazines.
Find and write well-crafted stories about the market. Coordinate production requests and schedules, arrange travel for talent and team. Order and create graphics. Assist senior producers with story production and pre-interviews.
Qualifications/Requirements
• BA degree in journalism or business; or an equivalent degree
• 1-2 years of Production experience.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to work with others under tight deadlines is critical.
• Must be a self-starter and be able to make quick, editorially sound decisions while remaining calm under pressure.
• Strong writing skills
Desired Characteristics
Ideal candidate must be able to multi-task, and have experience working in live television, business news knowledge is a huge plus. Proficiency with systems, especially the i-News computer system is preferred. Interest in and proficiency in social media a plus.
