Next City is looking for writers.  We also work with freelancers to publish work done with additional compensation the Solutions Journalism Network or The Society of Environmental Journalists, etc.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

Next City is a nonprofit news organization that believes journalists have the power to amplify solutions and help spread them from one city to the next. Its mission is to inspire greater economic, environmental, and social justice in cities. Next City supplies changemakers with information that fuels their fight for low-income neighborhoods.

COMPENSATION

  • $350-$400 for 700-1000 word stories.  We do pay higher rates depending on availability of funding for certain topics or complexity and length of the story.
