Candidates for this job should have economic and data expertise, and familiarity with how Washington works. Experience covering the federal government is a big plus, as is knowing how to present information in a visual way. For this position, you have to be a really good writer with the ability to stand above the material and make sense of complex material for a general — but super smart — audience.
