The New York Law Journal, the largest-circulation legal daily in the country, is seeking a reporter to join its editorial team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for covering the law—particularly the business of law— and be able to uncover trends, reveal “behind-the-scenes” happenings in law firms and find stories that no one else is writing about.
Working quickly on deadline and break news while delivering compelling profiles and thoughtful enterprise stories aimed at our sophisticated readership of lawyers, judges, academics and policymakers.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
Required skills:
• At least 3 years of journalism experience (legal and/or business journalism experience preferred)
• Interest in reporting on policies that impact the law and the legal community
• Strong reporting, writing and interviewing skills
• Ability to develop ongoing source relationships
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Proficiency with social media and multimedia reporting
