New Orleans CityBusiness seeks managing editor

New Orleans CityBusiness, which marks its 35th anniversary in 2015, is seeking a managing editor who can handle the varied aspects of helping lead a digital-first newsroom that also produces a every-other-week print journal and numerous industry and event publications.

The position requires someone who can help reporters shape stories to meet the CityBusiness mission of producing actionable news content –  stories that help ours readers make money, save money and spend it wisely. This involves far more than “how to” and basic transactional reporting – it requires someone comfortable in steering in-depth analysis of news trends, investigative journalism and data-driven reporting.

The ability to multitask is a must, as well as an ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and management. You’ll be trusted to work independently, but guidance and professional growth are priorities for our newsroom staff.

Please send a cover letter and samples of your work (links or attachments) to greg.larose@nopg.com.

No phone calls, please.
