New Mexico daily seeks business reporter

The Daily Times, a member of the USA Today Network, is seeking an experienced reporter to cover Energy and Business beats in Farmington, New Mexico.

Part of the job entails covering businesses and business trends in the Four Corners communities. Energy extraction and issues including the supply of electricity, from coal plants to wind turbines, are covered in our news magazine, Energy. This reporter also coordinates and writes for our lively monthly supplement, the Four Corners Business Journal.

You may also be called upon to work on national or regional projects as part of the USA Today Network.

The successful candidate will have: the proven ability to write cleanly and accurately with an engaging style; the ability to work well under pressure, and; multimedia skills that include basic iPhone video editing, SEO optimization and networking within the community.

Required: A minimum of one year of professional experience at a media outlet. College stations or publications do not count.

The Daily Times is the newspaper of record for Farmington, Aztec, Bloomfield and many other surrounding communities. The Four Corners region is rich with cultural history, outdoor adventures and some of the best fly fishing waters in the country. It’s also a short drive to the ski slopes or rivers in the Durango, Colorado, area.
