The qualified candidate must be an experienced journalist with multimedia skills, and capable of coming up with engaging story ideas for our business audience, writing clean copy and working both independently and collaboratively.
Business journalism experience is a plus.
The staff writer position will contribute to New Haven Biz’s three-times-a-week e-newsletter, writing and editing breaking news stories, posting stories to our website and using social media.
The position will also contribute to our monthly print newspaper, writing more in-depth stories and features.
The right hire must be enterprising, willing to juggle various responsibilities at one time, able to write both breaking news and longer-form stories and be a self-starter when it comes to generating story ideas.
Just as important you must be willing and able to meet with the region’s top business leaders and generate sources.
The position reports to the Managing Editor.
