Posted by Chris Roush

New Haven Biz is a regional B2B publisher, a division of New England Business Media (NEBM).  The company owns award-winning regional business media publications including the Hartford Business Journal, and is looking for a full-time managing editor with a deep journalism background and strong digital and social media skills.

The managing editor will lead New Haven Biz’s online news efforts and products, including its e-newsletter, website and social efforts. The right candidate should have proven writing and reporting experience, strong copy editing and digital skills, experience in meeting tight, daily deadlines as well as long-term story and project deadlines.

Primary responsibilities will be writing, editing, and posting news to the web and sending out e-newsletters, which include written briefs, short stories and longer news features.

The managing editor will also oversee all social media efforts, including using various platforms — Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, etc. — to engage online audiences with New Haven Biz content.

The managing editor will also help with the planning, management and execution of the New Haven Biz Magazine, which publishes bimonthly, as well as other special print publications.

We’re looking for a hungry, self-starting individual who can be productive in a small newsroom. This position reports to New Haven Biz’s editor.

Candidates should have a minimum of 3 to 5 years of journalism experience. A business journalism background and familiarity with the New Haven market is a plus. We offer full health, dental and other benefits and a competitive salary.

New Haven Biz digital brand was launched in 2017, and its print pub in the fall of 2018. The parent company also owns and operates the regional B2B titles Hartford Business Journal, Worcester Business Journal and MaineBiz.
