The New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung, an award-winning five-day daily in the heart of South Central Texas, is looking for a new full-time photographer to bring life to its newspaper, monthly magazine and special sections.
You’ll find no better place to pad your portfolio than the scenic New Braunfels Hill Country. From rodeos and dance halls to river recreation, sports and festivals, there won’t be a boring moment.
New Braunfels’ constant growth has provided the perfect backdrop for those looking to take the next step in their journalism career. Previous photographers in this position have gone on to work for the Austin American-Statesman and Texas A&M University.
The candidate is expected to have an excellent eye for setting up and capturing dynamic shots and must have extensive skills in Adobe Photoshop. The photographer is responsible for cropping, toning and uploading all photos, in addition to providing detailed cutlines.
Adobe InDesign experience, as well as top-notch written and oral communication skills, are also required.
The Herald-Zeitung is owned by Southern Newspapers and offers full medical and dental benefits, as well as a 401K program with a company match. The position is hourly and pays between $30-$32K per year, depending on prior experience level. Email portfolios to: tucker.stephenson@nbtxhz.com
