NECN seeks producer for business show

NECN, the NBC-owned television station in the Boston television market and the country’s largest regional cable news network, is seeking an experienced producer to lead its weeknight business show.

NECN Business is watched by top CEOs in the region and by consumers alike. The show has a full-time reporter dedicated to turning original content.

Job requirements

Produce a 30-minute daily business show that encompasses the news business leaders and consumers need to know in the New England reigon
Work on quarterly business show special
Produce newscasts that include the closing numbers on Wall Street, in-studio guest analysis of market moves, personal financial guidance.
Collaborate with other NBC properties to bring in content that would appeal to the New England audience
Book guests and execute segments
Line produce the show
Work with digital staff members to improve business-related content on the web and create content that will be shared socially
Regularly break business news
Fill-in produce on other newscasts as necessary
Regularly produce breaking news cut-ins, writer for other newscasts, and assist with other newsroom tasks to help with continuous breaking news coverage.

Qualifications/Requirements
College degree required
Minimum of 3 years of television news line producing experience
Minimum of 3 years of technical skills in news production including creating show rundowns
Experience line producing breaking news
Desired Characteristics
Ability to translate business news into content that is sought-after and desired by the business community and consumers
Ability to write outstanding news teases that effectively carry the audience over commercial breaks
Strong interest in business news and current events in general
High degree of flexibility in scheduling & assignments
