Want to work with one of America’s most loved and trusted brands? The TODAY Digital team covers newsmaking interviews, celebrity updates and cultural trends, as well as original and creative lifestyle features. We’re investing and growing our coverage in the health space, and we’re looking for a multi-talented Reporter and Editor who will contribute to covering health content in both the news and lifestyle realm while driving the brand forward to the next generation of audiences.

  • Write and report on stories in the health space, ranging from breaking health news and reported health pieces based on the latest studies to evergreen SEO assignments
  • Judiciously evaluate health news and studies, deciphering what they mean for our readers
  • Find and pitch interesting and innovative stories – whether it’s the story everyone will be talking about that night (and into the next day) or an in-depth feature
  • Copy edit stories, following the rules of AP Style and meticulously check for factual errors and typos before publishing
  • Coordinate with editors and producers on broadcast, site programming, and social team to assist in promotion or prep for the following day
  • Monitor breaking news stories and audience appetite and responding with a take or angle relevant to our brand
  • Work with a team of health writers and editors
  • Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, generally contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week.

  • Experience posting and optimizing to social media platforms
  • Working knowledge of social, video production and online publishing tools

Desired Characteristics:

  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to prioritize while multitasking
  • Have proven expertise in the health space

Salary range: $75,000 – $100,000
