Posted by Chris Roush

Morningstar is looking for a strong editor to join our growing New York-based team.

In the role of markets editor, your primary responsibility will be to edit articles from Morningstar’s editorial Markets team for use on Morningstar.com. You will serve as a final editor on articles from the Markets team, editing copy for clarity, structure, accessibility, and jargon, as well as seeing it over the finish line to publication on the website. Our markets coverage spans across the investing world, stocks and bonds, energy and cryptocurrencies, individual companies and macro trends.

Some of these articles will require a fast turnaround time. In this role, we will be tapping your news judgment, institutional knowledge of the markets, knack for quickly sharpening stories and creating snappy ledes, and your enjoyment of getting information in front of readers when they need it.

In addition, you will edit articles destined for Morningstar.com from other teams at Morningstar. The pieces you will edit are authored by some of the industry’s best-known investing columnists, along with articles from our deep bench of analysts. The subjects of these columns range from taxes to retirement planning, from mutual fund picks to undervalues stocks.

  • Ensure copy is formatted properly and meets Morningstar’s standards and style.
  • Be an active editor by coaching writers on how to best tell their stories.
  • Consider and write headlines for various audiences and platforms
