Montana paper seeks a business reporter

October 23, 2018

You won’t get bored on this beat. As the center of Montana’s biggest metro area, Billings is jumping with steady population growth and a booming business sector that draws customers from a vast surrounding region.

The Billings Gazette needs an experienced reporter to lead coverage of the dynamic and growing business community in Billings and eastern Montana. We need someone who can not only report what’s going on, but explain what it means.

It helps if you don’t mind living in a community that lives outdoors, with skiing, cycling, hiking, hunting, fishing and wild rivers all around us. When we do go indoors, it’s usually to one of the many great restaurants, craft beer pubs, live music venues or art galleries in our thriving downtown.

The Billings Gazette is the state’s largest daily and has a smart, experienced staff that works hard to remind readers that local journalism matters. We offer an excellent benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, paid holidays and a generous paid time off policy. We are an equal opportunity employer. You can see our website at www.billingsgazette.com and learn more about our company at www.lee.net

Successful applicants will have a strong portfolio that demonstrates he or she can cover the news and also tell a great story. Please send a portfolio, any other projects or clips, and three references. Interested applicants may apply at www.billingsgazette.com/workhere.
