Modern Healthcare seeks a web producer

Modern Healthcare is seeking a Web Producer to support and enhance the brand’s digital presence through its website, newsletters, social media channels and multimedia.

This role will have an active presence on social media channels, ensure all content follows best SEO practices and is reaching audiences who will engage and learn from our coverage.

Job expectations include:

  • Help create and publish multimedia content to enhance coverage (i.e. audio, video, slideshows)
  • Curate and update content for the website and blog, mining topics informed by analytics and SEO data; help to maintain an editorial calendar for these items.
  • Understand metrics and analytics and use them to inform decision-making on content and placement on the home page and newsletters.
  • Adjust and experiment with headlines to make sure stories have maximum impact and extend their shelf life using analytics and current best practices in SEO.
  • Make sure digital content has appropriate tags and art; help assemble, proof and send e-mail newsletters
  • Use social channels to keep Modern Healthcare’s digital content and voice in the conversation around healthcare business and policy throughout the day
  • Occasionally write blog posts and news and trends and promote them on social media channels
  • Keeping up with new tools that could make their work more effective and efficient

Requirements:

  • BA in journalism, communications or a related field
  • Multimedia production skills, SEO proficiency
  • Interest in healthcare policy and business, and able to translate complex topics into engaging social media posts and summaries.
  • Minimum 1 year newsroom experience

This position is exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
