Modern Healthcare seeks a reporter to cover health care disparities

Modern Healthcare is looking for a skilled and competitive reporter to cover disparities in access and representation in healthcare, the impact of structural and interpersonal racism on the industry and the solutions progressive industry stakeholders and policymakers are taking to address these issues.

This reporter will transcend beats to explore everything from efforts to innovate for Medicaid beneficiaries, coverage and clinical challenges within the dual eligible population, access to telehealth and diversifying hospitals, clinics, medical schools, C-suites and boardrooms to better represent America’s increasingly diversified landscape. All stories reported by this reporter must concentrate on how these issues affect the business of healthcare and ultimately, the quality of care. Stories should concentrate on policies, operational and financial innovations, best practices and challenges to addressing health disparities.

Modern Healthcare wants a reporter who will establish a diverse roster of sources in pursuit of scoops, investigative targets and compelling business stories. Successful candidates must write quickly, accurately and authoritatively when big stories break, and have an established record of producing compelling, agenda-setting enterprise work.
