About the Role:

We are looking for a reporter to cover energy and climate regulation and litigation. This role involves providing in-depth analyses of legislation and litigation to anticipate regulatory challenges. Breaking market-moving news and offer forward-looking analysis to inform decision-makers.

MLex is a real-time newswire and the successful candidate will be expected to turn around urgent copy quickly. It is critical that the successful candidate can successful spot a story that will appeal to MLex’s broad-but-demanding readership. We also publish in-depth reporting and commentary, and the Energy and Climate Correspondent will be expected to identify risks posed by legislation ahead of our competitors and use this expertise to write in-depth, big impact investigations and commentary pieces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Quickly turn around urgent news stories for our real-time newswire.
  • Identify and write in-depth reports and commentary on energy and climate risks.
  • Collaborate with our Trade team in Brussels and colleagues in other bureaus.

Requirements:

  • Journalism experience.
  • Ability to break exclusive news and provide insightful analysis.
  • Proficiency in writing both news-wire and commentary formats.
  • Knowledge or interest in EU regulatory environment, climate, and energy regulation.
  • Fluent in English; proficiency in additional European languages (French, Spanish, German, or Polish) is a plus.
