Whitaker Publishing seeks an editor to join our award-winning crew of editors and art directors at Biz 417, our magazine for and about the local business community that’s published six times a year.
The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field and at least two years of experience writing or editing magazine-style copy that pops. Experience in business reporting is preferred.
Interest in and excitement about covering the vibrant and thriving local business community is a must. Experience with the basics of InDesign and/or InCopy is a plus but not a requirement.
Skills
– Generation of creative and well-researched business content
– Interest in business reporting and willingness to be actively engaged and deeply immersed in the local business community
– Stellar writing and reporting skills and knowledge of the AP Stylebook
– Experience editing and/or proofreading
– Ability to collaborate with an art director, writers and other team members
– Organization, curiosity, initiative and the ability to always hit deadlines
– Experience with the basics of InDesign and/or InCopy (preferred)
