Midland (Michigan) Daily News seeks a community news editor

At the Midland (Michigan) Daily News, our Community News Editor is a liaison between the newsroom and the most important organizations in the community. In addition to managing your own small army of freelancers, the editor is responsible for writing a weekly column, feature writing, and Arts & Entertainment coverage.

The editor also will help us expand our coverage of non-profits and help add diverse voices throughout the newspaper while maintaining a digital-first focus.

Our newsroom is built on a foundation of curiosity, exceptional storytelling, and a history of strong public affairs reporting. If you want your journalism to make a difference – to mean something to the communities you cover – we have a place for you at the Midland Daily News.

One year of previous reporting and editing experience is preferred as well as an AA or BA.
