Metro Market Media LLC seeks a features editor, The Times

The Times, a privately owned newspaper in Gainesville, Ga., is seeking a Features Editor to manage features content, including writing articles as well as managing a part-time writer and freelance columnists.

We have the largest newsroom staff in Northeast Georgia, a testament to our continued dedication to providing local news.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have experience and passion for producing entertaining local feature articles
  • Have a natural curiosity and interest in our local audiences and their needs
  • Be able to keep up with local events our readers will be interested in
  • Love writing about the local dining scene as much as our readers love reading about it
  • Be adept at using social media and engaging audiences there
  • Be persistent and resourceful, able to find innovative/creative solutions.
  • Engage with the community, help with company events

Additional skills that would be beneficial include photography and Spanish.

The position will be based at our downtown Gainesville office and will be a roughly 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekday shift, with weekend, evening and holiday work sometimes required. The Times publishes daily email newsletters, E-Paper editions five days a week and prints twice weekly in addition to maintaining the website at gainesvilletimes.com.
