Mergermarket seeks utilities and mining reporter

Mergermarket and DealReporter are looking to hire an energetic and curious journalist to cover M&A in the energy, utilities and mining sectors.

A successful candidate will aggressively cover corporate strategy in the context of M&A and develop sources among CEOs, bankers, lawyers and advisors in order to pen original scoops on deals in the works, and deals that could come to pass.

At Mergermarket/DealReporter journalists must generate their own story ideas and produce four to five stories weekly. In time, the successful reporter will write authoritatively on energy companies, mining businesses and investor-owned utilities while collaborating with colleagues in North American and around the globe.

Experience covering business, energy and finance is preferred. A minimum two years journalism experience required. The ideal candidate will be undaunted by complex subjects, persistent and collaborative.

We are giving primary consideration to journalists based in New York City or Texas.
