MedCity News seeks a reporter

MedCity News is looking for a reporter to cover hospitals, payers and health IT. MedCity News is a leading publication focusing on healthcare innovation and transformation. It is respected as a must-read source of news and analysis by startups, investors, health system and payer innovation leads and C-suite executives. The publication also hosts conferences on topics of high interest in healthcare.

Responsibilities include writing daily for MedCityNews.com, helping to build the email newsletter sent to more than 34,000 subscribers and social media promotion. For the right candidate, there are opportunities to host podcasts and moderate conference sessions in live or virtual events.

Requirements: Two years experience, preferably covering healthcare with an interest in technology. The position is remote, but the reporter will be required to travel to cover industry conferences – such as SXSW, HIMSS, HLTH and others in addition to MedCity-hosted events where necessary. Chris Roush was the dean of the School of Communications at Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut. He was previously Walter E. Hussman Sr. Distinguished Professor in business journalism at UNC-Chapel Hill. He is a former business journalist for Bloomberg News, Businessweek, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Tampa Tribune and the Sarasota Herald-Tribune. He is the author of the leading business reporting textbook "Show me the Money: Writing Business and Economics Stories for Mass Communication" and "Thinking Things Over," a biography of former Wall Street Journal editor Vermont Royster.
